Ruby Canyon

From the California Zephyr
2
1

This is my first time on the California Zephyr route, and holy crap! I have seen some shit. In a good way. Like absolutely breathtaking views. I will be taking this route again soon, because there were a lot of them that I didn’t get, and I want to.

One I’m so glad I got some photos and videos of, though, was Ruby Canyon. It’s one of those areas you can’t see any other way. I mean, I guess you could fly a drone in, but that seems like a lot of work. I just sat on my ass and held up my phone from time to time.

The river here is the Colorado River, and we followed it for quite a while. A lot of the way, there were trees between me an the view, which doesn’t matter in person, but it does make for not-so-great video, so I did end up discarding some of my footage.

The point I’m making is that you should probably get your ass on this train and see it for yourself someday.

This is on the eastbound train, and I was seated in coach on the right-hand side of the train facing forward.

Views from the Train
When you're on the the train, you see some AMAZING vistas through mountains, across deserts, beside bodies of water, and other gorgeous landscapes. Some of these are literally only viewable from a train.
So, naturally, I've always got my phone out, taking photos and videos to show you
